Good morning all,
Let's get right to the heart of the matter for today's scripture (John 4: 43-54). Jesus traveled back to Cana in Galilee where He performed his miracle. A royal official approaches Him and asks that Jesus go and heal the man's son who is dying.
Jesus tells the man to go because is son will live. The key, my brothers and sisters is that the man believed what Jesus said would happen. How about us? Do we believe in miracles? Sometimes we need to see them to believe. That is not how God operates. God sees into our hearts and it is our faith that is important.
The miracle in today's story shows that Jesus does not need to be present to perform the healing. While that royal official was traveling home, he received word that his son would live. It was at the same time that Jesus told the man that his son would live that the boy was actually healed.
We do not have to see signs or be present when someone asks us to pray for them. All we have to do is believe that God heals us at that moment. We may not see the effects right away nor do we need to see them.
Do not let fear and panic grip us this day. Take the necessary precautions to sanitize as instructed. But most of all, come to God in our prayers and believe in the miracle. I do!
God bless,
Fr. Pat
