Dear Parish Families and friends,
In today's gospel passage Jesus says "...But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you." (Jn 20: 22 ) Jesus says His final goodbye to His apostles before He mounts the Cross and He tells them that no one will ever take their joy away from them.
Joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God and it is very much needed in our lives right now. As we prepare for the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday, let us joyfully remember all of the men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces. Their great sacrifices throughout the years to ensure our freedom should always be remembered.
Most especially, we should always remember the greatest sacrifice of all, which was Jesus on the Cross two thousand years ago to free us from our sins. As we enjoy the barbecues and quiet gatherings, let us say a prayer and give thanks to God for giving us the greatest freedom of all.
Have a great weekend everyone......Fr. Pat
